Microsoft Azure OpenLogic (CentOS) で root になれないから不便であると。
だったら、sudo で root passwd 変更したら？
Linux 基礎コマンドを学習したら済むだけのこと。
それを棚に上げて、Azure Linux は癖があるとか、ようわからん。
基礎を知らずして応用したがろうとするの、もっとわからん。
